L'oreal Voluminous

Recently, I bought L'oreal  Voluminous carbon black and Voluminous water proof.
I have heard a lot about the Voluminous carbon black and decided to try it myself ;)

Voluminous carbon black

 It work, it really make your lash thicker and more visible. However its not water proof. As you gals know, i got smudging problems with water proof ones, so this will be problematic for me. I only use it when i know i'm going to have a short day, so i won't be a panda before i got home.  Oh ya, one more problem with it,  it also clump my lashes.

This is the wand of the water proof one, both of them have the same type of wand.

Voluminous water proof

 The original was really popular, but the waterproof one wasn't that popular (i think). But i personally really like it. Its water proof so it smudge less, it really make your lash thicker and more visible. It work better than the Voluminous carbon black and it also does not clump the  lashes as much as carbon black.

A friend of my has the original voluminous one and i tried hers before, it was really good. But i only tried once and did not compare the 2 side by side so i'm not sure if its really better than the water proof one. But i do remember that the original one smudge in less than half a day.. LOL..

Covergirl LashblastLength Mascara (Water resistant)

The mascara and  the brush are packed separately. 

The brush is thin.

Effect: 

one application is enough to see the lashes lengthened and curled up.

3 applications made me look like I am wearing false long eyelashes.

The lashes don’t clump together. They are well defined and separated. 

Don’t need to curl the lashes before or after.

Easy to remove with eye makeup remover.

Covergirl Professional all- in -one mascara (Waterproof)

It is an all -in -one mascara (lengthening & volumising)

The brush is quite thick.

Effect: one application is not enough to see the lashes to be volumisied. 

Lengthening is ok only.

I have to keep applying a few times on the same spot on my lashes in order to get the volumising and lengthening effect. 

Surprisingly the lashes don’t clump after applying so many times.

Since its waterproof, it takes a while to remove it using eye makeup remover.

ELF Lipstain

the lipstain has quite a creamy texture. I tried heartbreaker on my lips. I applied one coat and waited for a while for the lip stain to dry up. the color look quite nude on my lips. Tried to use a tissue to remove but failed.

I applied the clear gloss. Its not sticky or over shiny. Actually its quite watery. I quite like the look as it look natural.

You need to use lip makeup remover to remove the stain.

Elf studio eyeshadow

Pebble, saddle, charcoal, sand dollar & mystic moss

It comes with a small mirror but no eye applicator.

The texture is smooth and there’s shimmer in it.

Easy to blend and the color is able to show quite well. Doesn’t smudge easily too.

Drugstore Haul

 No one was at home on sunday when the courrier came and i got to  pick them up on wed  after work.

 I bought 6 mascaras, 4 Revlon cream es, Smashbox holiday palette and Mally beauty discovery kit.

	Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadows, Moonlit Jewels and Khaki, I really like the Moonlit jewels... all the 4 colours are so pigmented.

 Smashbox Eye Wish Palette (2010). Its a limited edition holiday palette that contains twelve eye shadows, four cream eyeliners, and trial sizes of mascara and eyeshadow primer.

Oh ya, i was a bit disappointed when i realize that its made in china. I paid $45 USD and its made in china, i might as well buy ELF... ERrrrrrr...I'm ok with products from china as you know, i used a lot of ELF stuffs, what i'm not happy is i paid so much yet its made in china.....

Makeup: The Ultimate Guide

I went all the way to kinokuniya @ Taka yesterday, just to get Makeup: The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris.

I'm a very slow reader so, i have not finished it though i have being reading since i got it. LOL.

So far i have really enjoyed reading it, it included a lot of basics and it very informative.

There is session which tell us what are the must have brushes and why we need them.

There are many step by step guides to achieve a particular look and she even has an Asian eye section which i think it great for us... I still reading and will share more in the days to come ;)

I just realized that all my friend think i don't read. LOL...

Everyone was shocked when i told them i want to get books from Amazon.. I decided to get it from Kinokuniya instead, i will be paying like $20 more but i really want the books.. i don't want to wait for 1 to 4 months.

This is the Beauty Encyclopedia i got recently, i bought the Basic eye edition, there are 2 other editions the Everyday Eye Edition and  the Sparkle Eye Edition. Which i bought as well.. LOL.. yap, they should be on their way soon...The  Encyclopedia is really compacts and these are what you have in it:

Brief Review:

The ES....Its really pigmented and way more superior than the NYX ones i own. The texture of the powder is really smooth. Easy to apply and blend.

The cream ES is very faint, almost transparent. Its creamy but not very pigmented, i don't think they can be worn alone, they can only be used as a base for powder ES.

The eyeliner is the worst thing in whole set.. LOL.. I had used ELF eyeliner before and never had any good experience with it. It don't stay for long on my eye, less than half a day it will be gone

Overall i still think the encyclopedia is worth getting as the ES is really good and you only pay like $5USD (excluding shipping charges) for 12 ES. The cream ES are good as base colour. I think if you have non oily eye lid, the eye liner may work fine too.

Shu mini weeked haul

I was given $80 of vouchers which could be used in Bugis BHG, so i drop by Shu Uemura counter to get their spring ES palette.
When i was there, I was told by the SA that they are going to discontinue their entire current lip stick collection  soon, since i do not own any Shu lip sticks so i picked a few to try out ;)

 I bought the Morphorium Blue Palette

 I also pick up the Malachite Green (Aqua Green) pigment.

 The 4 lip sticks i pick up, they r all very different in term of colour.. LOL..

 This is Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick - BR 740. Its bronze colour with glitter.

Yes another ELF haul

Hi gals, i hope you are not sick of my ELF hauls.. I got another delivery yesterday... LOL.. Crazy crazy.. LOL..

The brown one is the delivery, look how much bigger it is compared to the white one that arrived on friday.

This time round i only bought a bag of goodies... LOL.. No not because my sis bought more this time.. its because i bought many gift sets...

I did it again, i did not check what is inside the set before ordering, there are actually 2 lip products in it. Errrr...These items are under the elements session in the ELF web sites, allowing you to custom made your quads.

Oh, well.. i quite like the print of the ES and bronzer..LOL..
